DJI Zenmuse X5S Camera & 3-Axis Gimbal
Equipped with an improved Micro 4/3 sensor, the DJI Zenmuse X5S has a dynamic range of 12.8 f-stops and a much-improved signal to noise ratio with better color sensitivity compared to the X5R camera. The DJI Zenmuse X5S camera supports up to eight standard M4 / 3 lenses (and zoom lenses) with a focal length of 9-45mm (equivalent to 18-19mm on a 35mm camera) for maximum creative freedom. The Inspire 2‘s new CineCore 2.0 image processing system enables the DJI Zenmuse X5S to shoot at 5.2K CinemaDNG and Apple ProRes at 30 frames per second, as well as H.264 and H.265 footage at 4K / 60 and 4K / 30 at up to to 100 Mbps. Continuous bursts can be recorded in 20 frames per second at 20.8 MP in DNG.

High-End Professional Aerial Imagery
One of DJI’s most powerful aerial cameras, the DJI Zenmuse X5S is precisely engineered to deliver superb results for a wide variety of aerial photography and videography applications. Equipped with an upgraded 20.8-megapixel Micro 4/3 CMOS sensor, this camera offers a high dynamic range of 12.8 stops, which allows it to effectively handle high-contrast scenes and capture images and videos that retain a wealth of detail in all areas of the image. Along with a significantly improved the signal-to-noise ratio and enhanced color sensitivity, the DJI Zenmuse X5S is able to produce sharp, low-noise imagery in various lighting situations.
In addition to its impressive photography capabilities, the DJI Zenmuse X5S is a highly effective aerial imaging tool for professional filmmakers due to its superior video resolution. With the integrated CineCore 2.0 image processing system on the Inspire 2, it can record movie-quality videos in 5.2K CinemaDNG and Apple ProRes, as well as 4K video in H.264 and H.265 (both at a bitrate of up to 100Mbps).
Having a fixed lens can be limiting for users who want more creative flexibility when it comes to their final output. The DJI Zenmuse X5S can be used with a variety of compatible interchangeable micro 4/3 lenses, allowing you to choose the most appropriate lens type or focal length to fit your shooting needs. It currently supports eight standard micro 4/3 prime and zoom lenses from Olympus, Panasonic Lumix, and DJI, with focal lengths ranging from 9 to 45mm.
Optimized Gimbal Stabilization
DJI Zenmuse X5S offers ultra-smooth gimbal stabilization thanks to an improved 3-axis mechanical gimbal that makes use of concealed wires, vibration damping balls, a lightweight damping board, and a dedicated processor to ensure full 360° rotational capability, a control accuracy of ±0.01°, enhanced durability, optimum stability, and stable, uninterrupted data transmission. The gimbal allows the user to capture crisp, highly detailed photos and cinematic, shake-free video footage even when using heavier lenses with longer focal lengths or when flying in less than ideal weather conditions.
The DJI Zenmuse X5S utilizes DJI CINESSD card (PCIe3.0 NVMe SSD support) along with an advanced FAT32/exFAT file format system to record and transfer data at write speeds of up to 4.2Gbps. This allows for faster direct video transfer to a computer through the DJI CINESSD Station card reader, thus supporting more efficient CinemaDNG and Apple ProRes editing workflows.
Continuous Burst Mode and Lossless In-Video Still Capture
Even when capturing multiple photos at high speeds, the DJI Zenmuse X5S is capable of storing and maintaining as much detail, sharpness, and image information as possible. This allows the DJI Zenmuse X5S to shoot 14 frames per second in JPEG+DNG format with a maximum resolution of 20.8 megapixel. But when the CINESSD program is used, the burst photo frame rate can be increased to up to 20fps.
The DJI Zenmuse X5S can also create lossless still image files captured from a video without interrupting the recording.
Exceptional Long-Range Control
Adjust camera settings such as aperture and focus using the dedicated DJI GO 4 app, which allows users to operate the DJI Zenmuse X5S remotely to ensure maximum image quality and total creative control. Combined with DJI’s new Lightbridge technology, commands can be transmitted in real-time from up to 4.3mi (7km) away. When used with DJI Focus, an optional follow focus mechanism, users can enjoy ultra-precise control over lens focusing to ensure that subjects and scenes are always kept in sharp focus.
